The effect of the ocean at high tide causes many problems with the roads on South Tarawa. 

Repairs to the causeway and the road are a constant need.

The picture below show the road at high tide on the east end of the Island. 

The pictures above show the more rural part of South Tarawa.

How do you get the students to a school activity? Put a few students in a pickup truck.
